Ratings

Our ratings are based on the methods outlined in Roger Biggs' book, Handicapping My Way. Roger reveals the methodology in it's entirety and it would be quite feasible for anyone with Excel spreadsheet 'know-how' to produce a set of ratings almost the same as the ones we publish in the column "RTG" on our PDFs and CSV files. We have now expanded on Roger's older methods to produce a more accurate rating. However, to reach an accurate Assessed Price requires further calculations that are by no means trivial.

Obtaining value is the only way to win in the long run. No matter what method you decide to use, you must be betting on selections that ultimately have a greater chance of winning than the odds you obtain about your selection.

The idea is simple. For example, if a horse's real chance of winning is even money i.e. 50% or odds of $2.00 in Australia, then you would be foolish to bet at anything less than $2.00. However, if you could obtain $2.50 then you would be crazy not to bet. The Assessed Prices we produce allow you to accurately assess whether or not a horse is a value bet or not. This is crucial if you want your betting bank to grow.

The real trick to making money on the punt, is to find what factors are being overbet and underbet in the current punting climate. As of January 2016, all my indicators show that Jockeys are still completely under rated in the true assessment of a horses chances of winning. That's why the JR - Jockey Ratings we produce is so important when making your final assessment.

Here's what you will receive?

Take a look at the meetings all our clients received for Saturday 9th January 2016, Magic Millions Day.

Here's what our New Zealand clients received.

The most important information on the ratings sheets is the final Assessed Price, AP100, for each horse and the Rating figure, RTG2.  The ratings sheets are printable PDF files which can easily be taken to the races, TAB, pub or wherever you need them. The CSV file can be loaded straight into Excel, where you can sort and filter all horses using whatever methods you like. You can even import the CSV file into your own database.

All the files are emailed to you each race day, and can be viewed on Android phones, iPhones and iPads.

Our Clients Say:

I have learnt a great deal and in particular your teaching on value overlay in line with the AP pricing has given me an edge and confidence in my investing.

John,
Well done!
Big meeting, mid to large fields, 10 races. Only 2 races where the RB Rtg/Rtg2 didn't win or place. A nice few bob for my Christmas Club on the rest.
The other thing it does is show the value of the Ratings where all the horses are really trying.

Well done at Hobart today. 6 winners on top and a second rater wins at $9.
Great job.
